SAME-DAY URGENT CARE FOR ROSTERED PATIENTS

What is considered an Urgent Medical Condition?

Urgent medical conditions are ones that are not considered emergencies but still require care same day or the next day. Some examples include:

  • Accidents and falls, sprains or possible fractures
  • Cuts that don't involve much blood but might need stitches
  • Breathing difficulties, such as mild to moderate asthma
  • Eye pain and vision changes
  • Persistent fever or flu
  • Minor broken bones and fractures in fingers or toes
  • Moderate back problems not responding to heat pack and pain medication
  • Severe sore throat or cough
  • Worsening skin rashes and infections
  • Persistent vomiting or diarrhea leading to dehydration
  • Deteriorating Mental Health condition

What is NOT considered an Urgent Medical Condition?

If you request the Same Day Urgent Care Clinic with the following issues, you may be asked to book an appointment during regular office hours.

  • Forms
  • Non-urgent lab result review and follow ups
  • Physiotherapy, massage therapy or orthotics referrals
  • Letter of support or sick notes
  • Complex chronic conditions
  • Chronic medical or mental health conditions

Where can I go?

You may go to pharmacies for the following conditions.

  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
  • Hay fever (allergic rhinitis)
  • Oral thrush (candidal stomatitis)
  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis; bacterial, allergic and viral)
  • Dermatitis (atopic, eczema, allergic and contact)
  • Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)
  • Acid reflux (gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD))
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Cold sores (herpes labialis)
  • Impetigo
  • Insect bites and hives
  • Tick bites (post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent Lyme disease)
  • Sprains and strains (musculoskeletal)

If you are having an emergency, please visit the nearest hospital.

Our clinic policies

  1. Bring your valid Health Card- All patients must provide a valid Provincial Health Card at the time of each visit.
  2. Last patient registered 30 minutes prior to closing- The clinic will register the last patient 30 minutes prior to closing time.
  3. Clinic may stop accepting patients earlier than posted- Our doors will be closed when we have registered enough patients to take us past our closing time.

Prescription Renewals

We request that medication renewals be done during your regular appointment with your family doctor whenever possible. Please bring all your medications to every visit.

Uninsured Services

OHIP does not cover all services provided by a physician or practitioner. Please see some examples listed below.

  • Back to work note,
  • Sick note,
  • Daycare note (free of communicable disease)
  • Charges for Copying/Transmission of Medical Records
  • Completion of form physicals for schools, camps, preschool, daycare, university or other educational institution

Health Cards

It is the patient’s responsibility to have a valid health card. Please bring your health card to every visit.

Please visit the Service Ontario Website for more information. There is a charge for appointments if no valid health card is provided during your visit.
